From Hopeful Student to Successful Nurse in Haiti
Djenica grew up with her family near our Haiti North sponsor site. Now 23, Djenica was chosen by a Chalice sponsor when she was seven years old.
“My parents couldn't give me all the school supplies because the situation was very difficult, Djenica recalls. “After the first sponsor chose me, I began to feel better because I found food, school supplies, shoes, clothes.”
After a few years in the program, Djenica’s family also received a chicken coop through the Haiti North Poultry Cooperative Program, along with livelihood skills training to turn their coop into a small business.
“Thanks to sponsorship, I have been able to complete all primary and secondary classes,” Djenica writes. When she graduated from high school, she continued to university to study nursing. She is now a proud graduate!
“Now that I have graduated in nursing, it is time for me and my family to thank all my sponsors and the Chalice sponsorship,” Djenica says. “I am proud to show you how you have helped me to change my life and how great you are in my heart.”
