Rohith is Already Giving Back in Gratitude for His Sponsor

The older of two children, Rohith is bright and determined to succeed. With the support of his mother, Sujatha, Rohith and his sister Roslin have overcome many challenges in their young lives, including the loss of  their father when the children were little. Sujatha has supported her children by finding daily work as a laborer.

By the time Rohith was in the fourth grade, his mother was no longer able to make ends meet on her own. Seeking help from neighbors, she borrowed money to keep her children in school, but as the bills piled up, she worried she could lose everything she had worked so hard for.

Thankfully, a field worker from our Tamil sponsor site saw the family's struggle and stepped in to help by inviting Rohith into the sponsorship program. Shortly after, a gracious Chalice sponsor chose Rohith, and life started to improve for him and his family.

With his sponsor's support, Sujatha could afford Rohith's education costs, as well as Roslin's, and had the income to buy higher quality food to fuel their growing young minds.

With renewed vigor, Rohith studied hard, completed high school, was accepted into college and completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He is now working at a manufacturing company. Roslin is in her first year of college, working on the same degree! Rohith is proud that he can provide financial support to his mother and to Roslin's higher education.
