Poised and confident, Alexia is ready to take on the world. She graduated high school before the start of COVID-19 and she is excited to start classes at the Major San Simon University in the city of Cochabamba when schools reopen.

While growing up in Bolivia, Alexia dreamed of getting accepted into the Chalice sponsorship program. With the help of a sponsor, she knew she could finish school and make her dreams come true. She was crushed when she learned her younger brother was accepted into the program. Although she was happy for him, she felt her own dreams were slipping away.

Strong in her faith, Alexia prayed and remained patient, knowing in her heart God was going to answer her. Finally, in 2018, she was interviewed by Chalice site staff and expressed her desire to be part of the program. She was elated when she was accepted and then shortly after, found a sponsor!

The love between Alexia and her sponsor is evident in the way she speaks about them. They both love photography and above all, they are united by faith in God. "My Godmother is a blessing in my life and I thank her deeply for the support she provides," said Alexia. "Beyond receiving financial support, my sponsor has been a moral support and helped me overcome bullying during my childhood due to one of my malformed ears." Encouragement in her sponsor's letters has helped her value her family more and raised her self-esteem.

Sponsorship means so much to Alexia and her family. Her future is bright and she has the opportunity to realize her full potential. Thank you to all of our sponsors who help lift up and encourage children in need every day.
