Built in the 1930s through the efforts of Catholic missionaries, St. Paul’s Primary School was the first elementary school in Nandom. Now more than 90 years old, it faces many challenges, including an obvious lack of furniture. Despite being very eager to learn, without desks or chairs, students were sitting on the bare concrete floor during classes. This was not only uncomfortable and inconvenient, but also made it difficult for students to concentrate.

Thanks to Chalice Gift Catalog donors, however, 60 students at this iconic primary school no longer have to sit on the floor and try to take notes during class. With 20 new desks, each seating three students, these spirited kids are all smiles.
Teachers are also very happy, noticing the big, smiling faces of engaged students who are once again excited about coming to class. Jawad, a Grade 3 student, is one of those happy children. He says these new desks are much appreciated, and he will be making the most of them.
